Process
1. Reach out
15-minute intro call. Talk budget, availability, ask questions, see if I’m a good fit. If I’m not, I’ll help you find someone who is.
2. Schedule
Let’s get something on the books. I’ll email you two forms to complete online.
3. First session
First session usually looks a little different. Lots of get to know you questions, identify important topics and goals, set some plans.
4. Sessions
You bring what you got. I listen, ask some thoughtful questions, maybe challenge you. You grow and feel better.
5. Wrap up
We go at your pace. Some clients come for 4 sessions. Some come for 100. Most come for 12ish. We can scale back or wrap up.
What to expect
At the beginning, lots of questions. About your job, relationships, childhood, personality, strengths, growth areas, wins, losses, schedules, bowel movements, favorite movies, and more.
This is your time. I’m the driver ed instructor. Or the sherpa. I’m a guide and support. But it’s your journey. I’ll listen well, ask some tough questions, challenge you, or connect dots.
Thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Excuse the therapist lingo… I like to use CBT, ACT, Solution-Focused, IFS, and more. These are just ways to discuss thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
We’ll talk about hard stuff and good stuff. Life and therapy aren’t just about avoiding the bad stuff. It’s also about increasing the good stuff. Strengths, skills, hope, meaning, joy, health.
Hey, I’m Ryan.
Sometimes I make people cry. Usually good tears— happy or sad. Rarely laughing tears. I leave that to my cousin, Dave.
I’m a son, husband, father, friend. I’m also a therapist. Want to work together? Reach out.
